Biden and Harris’ Tax Returns Reveal Their Lack of Generosity

According to 2021 tax forms, Biden and Harris each donated less to charity than the average citizen for their level of income.

Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, gave significantly less than the average worker for their level of earnings.

Even the poorest of Americans were significantly giving more than either of these two individuals.

As of 2021, Biden and first lady Jill Biden had a federal AGI of $610,702, paid $183,925 in state and federal income taxes, and donated $17,394 to charity, for a combined total of 2.8 percent.

A philanthropic deduction of 3.1 percent of adjusted gross income is typical for persons earning between $500,000 and $2 million, according to statistics from the independent Tax Policy Center from 2016.

Filers with incomes from $100,000 and $500,000 make a 2.9 percent donation.

Harris and Emhoff reported a federal AGI totaling $1,655,563 on their 2021 federal tax return. A total of $523,371 in income taxes was paid by the couple.

Here Are Some More Numbers…

According to their tax form, they donated $22,000 to charities in 2021, which is less than the usual donation for people with such high incomes (1.3 percent).

Taxpayers earning around $500,000 and $2,000,000 annually donated 3.1 percent of revenue to charity, which amounted to $51,322 on a $1,655,563 income.

Those earning less than $50,000 per year who itemized their philanthropic deductions gave out 8.4 percent of their adjusted gross income.

In 2021, Biden’s charitable contributions were made to ten different organizations, with the greatest amount — $5,000 — going towards the Beau Biden Charity.

The $17,394 donated to charity represents a reduction from the amount donated in 2020, while Biden was running for office.

That year, the Bidens donated $30,704 to charity organizations, which amounted to around 5% of their total income.

An Offical Statement From the White House

A statement from the White House on Friday read:

“With this disclosure, the president has released a total of 24 years of tax records with the American public, underscoring his commitment to being open with the American people regarding his financial affairs as leader of the country.”

According to a 2008 article by USA Today, Biden donated an average of $369 per year to charity during the years before he became vice president.

During his time as a senator, Biden donated $995 to charity, which represented around 0.3 percent of the revenue he and his wife made.

What Biden’s taxes don’t show is how much his family has benefitted financially from his name.

Joe’s brother, James Biden, received a billion-dollar contract to build residential homes in Iraq while Joe was vice president.

Joe’s son, Hunter, also has been caught up in shady business deals while Joe was vice president. Hunter was on the board of Burisma, which was a Ukrainian oil company under investigation by the Ukrainian attorney general.

Essentially, with Biden’s approval rating so low, the White House decided to release Biden’s tax records to say, “look we did what Trump never did.”
