Biden and Trudeau Talk About Shutting Down Freedom Convoy

The heads of state in Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and the United States, President Joe Biden, called an emergency meeting on the Freedom Convoy demonstration on Friday.

The Freedom Truckers essentially imposed a trade embargo, blocking important crossroads between the United States and Canada.

One of the most international crossings between Canada and the US had come to a halt, due to the immense traffic on the Ambassador Bridge.

As a result of the economic pressure, numerous Canadian provinces have caved into the protesters’ demands. Vaccine mandates will be now be lifted in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

However, other areas of Canada aren’t so friendly to truckers. On Friday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford proposed huge fines of up to $100,000, as well as the possibility of a year in prison.

More on the Call

The emergency call was made by Biden and Trudeau on Friday, amid mounting economic and societal pressures resulting from widespread civil disobedience against vaccine mandates.

At a press briefing, White House press secretary Jen Psaki revealed the contents of the call.

Both Biden and Trudeau agreed individuals who are impeding travel and commerce between the US and Canada are creating a direct impact on the lives and livelihoods of civilians, Psaki said.

Psaki failed to mention how both Trudeau and Biden have disrupted millions of lives through vaccine mandates.

“The president voiced his worry that US companies and workers are suffering substantial consequences, including via production slowdowns, decreased work hours, and plant closures,” Psaki said of the call.

The Specifics

In a Friday afternoon update, Justin Trudeau revealed the specifics of the call.

The prime minister revealed he and Biden discussed the “illegal” border blockades and continued by saying, “I gave him an update on the situation, and we talked about the American and global impacts on the protesters.”

“We decided these blockades could not continue for the sake of people’s safety and our economies.” The two should have talked about how they are both illegally forcing their citizens to get vaccinated.

On Thursday, the White House urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to utilize federal authorities to “ease the truck roadblock by Canadians protesting the country’s COVID-19 mandates.”

According to the Associated Press, the White House on Thursday urged the Trudeau government to utilize federal authorities to break the truck roadblocks.

With Canadian officials, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg examined the matter.

According to the report, they requested their Canadian counterparts to “use federal authority to settle this dilemma at our common border.”

The demonstrations have prompted automakers to reduce output. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has offered to intervene to halt the trucker-led blockade. On the standoff, she made this comment.

Neither Trudeau, Biden, nor Whitmer were the least bit concerned when buildings were being burned due to riots from the far-left. Now that conservatives are standing up for their freedoms, leftists are waging war against them.
