After reaching stardom with his role in the hit 90s show, Boy Meets World, Ben Savage remained somewhat under the radar, cast in minor roles in relatively unknown shows, only to announce he was gunning for Congress.
According to reputable sources, Savage filed the paperwork earlier this week on Wednesday at the Federal Elections Commission.
Ben Savage From “Boy Meets World” Begins Eyeing Adam Schiff’s Seat
The filing was for the seat of the 30th California district, which is currently occupied by Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff, who’s been in Congress for the past 22 years.
No one is talking about how homeboy Ben Savage from Boy Meets World not only has a PoliSci degree from Stanford but is RUNNING FOR CONGRESS

This is likely due to Schiff planning on taking Dianne Feinstein’s seat once she’s vacated the position. The run would certainly be an upgrade to Savage’s career, as he’d previously lost an election for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council.
One of his representatives spoke up on the upcoming candidacy, adding Ben will remain focused on his goals, despite his upcoming wedding, and the childhood star is always looking for ways to help and improve his community.
It’s quite common for children who reach immense levels of fame to pull from the acting scene; although not many of them opt to switch it for a career in politics.
Savage, on the other hand, worked as an intern for then-Senator of Pennsylvania Arlen Spector in 2003, during his time at Stanford.
In 2024 election news, it seems 'Boy Meets World' actor Ben Savage has registered to run as a Dem for the CA-30th seat currently held by Rep. Adam Schiff.

From TV to Congress
Even though he was a semi-famous actor at the time, Savage actually graduated with a degree in political science.
Ever since Boy Meets World went off the air, Savage has been landing some smaller roles, reappearing in the spinoff series Girl Meets World years later, playing the same character.
Savage recently announced his engagement to his long-time girlfriend Tessa Angermeier; although the exact date of the wedding is yet to be revealed.
In an interview, he claimed one of the reasons he’s interested in being a career politician is because he finds it to be almost too similar to acting, a former calling of his.

Aside from the shows he is known for, Savage made appearances on several other TV series, albeit only for a few episodes.
Among those are Criminal Minds, Homeland, and even a single episode of Bones, the hit crime mystery series that ran from 2005 to 2017.
Despite this, he chose not to appear on the Boy Meets World-related podcast, Pod Meets World, even though his former castmates Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle all invited him for an appearance numerous times.
His love for politics goes way back and he even claimed to be interested in a career all the way back in 2014, but this year’s run may be what helps him claim a seat in Congress.
