Many Americans can remember former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. During the 2016 presidential election, Christie ran for office, but ultimately lost the nomination to then-candidate Donald Trump.
For a while, Trump and Christie seemed to develop a fairly friendly rapport. However, that appears to have changed.
Very recently, the former president took to social media in order to poke fun at Christie’s weight. However, according to Washington Examiner, Christie is now fighting back, not hesitating to articulate what he deems to be Trump’s various shortcomings.
The Latest on Trump From Christie
While speaking at a business event, Christie sounded off against Trump, pointing out the former president’s ongoing legal issues.
The former New Jersey governor claimed it was ridiculous for Trump to state on national TV that he can declassify various documents with just a mere thought.
Christie made it clear that he doesn’t believe that someone making these claims should be viewed as a serious presidential candidate at any time.
"We have a former president of the United States who on national television last night, said I declassified the documents, thinking about it," Chris Christie says about Donald Trump at Biz Council mtg
"I just had to think about it. This is a credible candidate for 2024," he adds

Trump’s recent jab at Christie’s weight via Truth Social follows comments that the latter made about Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate being raided back in August.
Christie previously declared to raid Mar-a-Lago was the only choice the FBI had and argued Trump shouldn’t have kept classified documents within his possession after exiting the White House.
More to Come?
At this rate, it remains to be seen whether or not Trump reacts to Christie’s criticism regarding his rhetoric on classified documents. This is a subject matter that many people weighed in on.
During the business event, Christie sarcastically suggested that he would have accomplished quite a bit if he was able to complete tasks without actually doing anything.

Trump’s comments about document declassifications came during his latest interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity. Hannity questioned Trump about the documents confiscated by the FBI and about Trump’s claims to have declassified them.
Upon Hannity asking the former president to share the method he used to declassify the documents, this is when Trump claimed there didn’t have to be a method.
The former president went on to say that as commander-in-chief, one can declassify documents merely by thinking of it.
Various critics of Trump have used the document declassification remarks as ammunition to go after him, accuse him of criminal wrongdoing, and claim he shouldn’t get back into the White House.
Within the weeks ahead, Americans can expect to hear and learn more about the case and subsequent actions stemming from the FBI raiding Mar-a-Lago just last month.
