After her spouse was viciously assaulted in November, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invited priests to her San Francisco home to carry out an “exorcism,” according to her daughter.
The Attack Left Nancy Feeling Guilty
Several weeks after David DePape is believed to have assaulted Paul Pelosi with a hammer, Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, told the New York Times that her mother contacted priests to conduct an exorcism of the home during Thanksgiving.
According to her daughter, Nancy Pelosi felt sorry and guilty that a stranger hunting for her attacked her husband instead while she was away from the house.
The New York Times was told by Alexandra Pelosi that, in her opinion, it weighed heavily on her soul. She probably felt incredibly bad and she believes that broke her mother.
Over Thanksgiving, she invited priests, who attempted to exorcise the home and held prayer services.
On the topic of her father, she said that he is a powerful, athletic individual and all of this has been difficult. She expressed she feels it will be another four or five months before her father returns to normal.

DePape accessed the Pelosi family’s San Francisco home early on October 28 through a rear glass door and walked into a bedroom where Paul Pelosi was asleep, according to San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.
Jenkins claimed that DePape prevented Paul Pelosi from using a telephone in the in-home elevator when he tried to do so. According to Jenkins, Paul Pelosi finally managed to flee and call 911 from a lavatory.
Paul Pelosi and DePape were squabbling over a hammer when police arrived at the house. As per San Francisco police, DePape started assaulting Paul Pelosi after officials ordered the men to put down the hammer.
Among other offenses, DePape is accused of attempted murder, domestic burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and elder abuse.
He entered a not-guilty plea. He also faces a number of federal allegations, which, if proven true along with the state counts, may result in decades in prison.

Based on a federal affidavit, DePape admitted to investigators that his original plan was to kidnap and question former Speaker Pelosi.
According to the affidavit, if Nancy told DePape the “truth,” he would release her; however, if she “lied,” he would shatter “her kneecaps.”
A San Francisco police investigator stated DePape claimed there was “evil in Washington” and he was aiming to destroy Pelosi because she is next in line for the presidency.
DePape Charged With Attempted Murder
Judge Stephen Murphy of the San Francisco Superior Court determined the state’s case would proceed to trial on all charges, including attempted murder, since prosecutors had shown sufficient evidence during a preliminary hearing.
DePape told Lt. Carla Hurley, who conducted an hour-long interview with him the day of the attack, about further targets he had in mind, including California Governor Gavin Newsom, actor Tom Hanks, and President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.
