New 2024 Poll Captures America’s Attention

All sorts of polls for next year’s presidential election have been coming out for quite some time now.

Some of these polls are tracking potential candidates in the GOP and Democratic primaries. Others are more focused on the two candidates who could end up winning these primaries and then facing one another in the 2024 general election for president.

Right now, it’s still early. While Joe Biden is expected to announce his intentions to run for president, he still has yet to make this announcement. Meanwhile, the current field of GOP contenders in the party’s primary election is expected to widen as 2023 continues.

Now, a new poll tracking possible outcomes in 2024’s general election has the nation talking, according to the Daily Mail.

Looking at the Numbers

Prior surveys have already shown that most Americans aren’t very eager for a 2.0 version of the 2020 presidential race that pitted Trump vs. Biden. There are many folks throughout the country who would like to see new blood enter the race.

Nevertheless, a poll by The Hill reveals Trump would beat Biden by five points in a 2024 election matchup so far. This poll also reveals that in a race that pitted Trump against Vice President Kamala Harris, he would win by ten points.

Supporters of the former president have hailed the poll conducted by The Hill as proof that he’s “still got it.”

Will Trump Win the Nomination?

Right now, there are debates in the Republican Party about whether or not Trump can or should win the nomination. Many Republicans who aren’t on board with nominating Trump in 2024 believe Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis would be a better candidate.

DeSantis supporters argue that the Florida governor will be able to win swing voters and other key demographics that may be considerably less inclined to support Trump.

However it turns out, the GOP primary is expected to be brutal. Trump is already ratcheting up his attacks against the Florida governor, making it clear that others in the party will have to decide where their loyalties lie.

Meanwhile, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has declared her candidacy for president as well. This spring will give a clearer picture as to what the GOP primary election looks like and who all is planning to run.

Some polls that pit DeSantis and Trump against one another in the GOP primary have DeSantis winning. Americans will have to stay tuned to see what happens next.
