Newsom Unleashes Unprovoked Attacks Against DeSantis

For reasons that remain a mystery to many Americans, California Gov. Gavin Newsom continues to zero in on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Despite all the troubles in California, ranging from electric grid mishaps to homelessness, drug costs, and more, Newsom continues to publicly take shots at DeSantis, even running ads in Florida that attack the GOP governor.

Just earlier this month, Newsom begged for a debate with his counterpart in Florida. While the California governor hasn’t gotten this debate, he has been using every opportunity possible to attack DeSantis.

Recently, Newsom went on MSNBC and made even more critical remarks about DeSantis, as documented by Breitbart News.

The Latest From Newsom on DeSantis

While on MSNBC, the California governor accused DeSantis of sending SWAT teams to people’s homes for getting registered to vote. Newsom likewise claimed the Florida governor had an elected officeholder arrested and went into Texas to send asylum seekers into Martha’s Vineyard.

After calling DeSantis and other Republican governors “sick,” Newsom made it clear that he views them as bullies too.

The interview also made it clear that Newsom has no issue with putting up various billboards in Florida and Texas. According to the California governor, the leaders of both red states have to be called out for what they’re doing.

Meanwhile, all of this is coming from the governor who didn’t mind locking down his own residents amid COVID, issuing orders that he himself didn’t follow, and then backing vaccine mandates that forced people to lose their jobs or be excluded from society.

The charges of inhumanity and cruelness that Newsom claims Republican governors are guilty of can just as easily be flipped back around on him and how he went about handling COVID.

A Ploy For Attention?

Some folks have speculated that Newsom’s aggression against his GOP counterparts in other states is rooted in his own ambitions to run for president. Though the California governor recently came out and said this is not the case.

According to Newsom, he’s got no desire to run in the 2024 presidential election or even in the 2028 presidential election.

Some Americans are taking the California governor at his word; though even if Newsom isn’t lying, it begs to question why he’s so focused on leaders across the nation when his own state is in need of dire fixing.

The results of Newsom’s failed leadership in California are so severe that many Americans are leaving states like California to relocate to Florida or Texas.
