Prominent Democrat Figures Slam Joe Biden’s Student Loan Handouts

Last week, former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders joined the Democrats in criticizing Biden’s student loan handout plan, which is set to cost the US around $500 billion.

During times when inflation is at the highest it’s been in decades, the move does seem a bit out of left field.

Bernie added he feels the criticism Biden received is correct; although he’s still of the opinion that this doesn’t mean help should be denied to those struggling with student loan debt.

The US economy can’t handle Biden’s expensive ideas

Much like what Republicans have been saying for a while now, Sanders also believes government should work for the betterment of all social classes, rather than just the 1% on top.

Unfortunately, despite his opposition to Biden’s plans, Bernie is still a Democrat at heart.

His true colors pop up every once in a while when he segues into criticizing the GOP, even though Republicans have nothing to do with the ongoing economic crisis.

Senator Bennet also chimed into the topic last week, with a press release stating the importance of immediate relief is greatly overshadowed by the fact that one-time debt cancellation isn’t the right solution.

He said he’s looking forward to changes being made to Biden’s loan handout plan and they’ll include reforms to income-driven repayment plans and the PSLF program.

What message does this send to young Americans?

Representative Tim Ryan on the other hand, is vehemently against Biden’s student loan forgiveness.

He argues it sends the wrong message to the millions of working Americans without a degree who are struggling just as hard to keep the lights on.

Moreover, Ryan demanded the Biden administration instead shift focus towards pushing a tax cut for working and lower-to-middle-class families in the US, especially now that the IRS is likely to target them more.

It’s important to remember there’s a large portion of Americans making well over $30,000 a year that never even went to college; they’re just as endangered as those that owe tens of thousands in student loan debt.

Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act” isn’t set to do much about the very issue it got its name from. Analysts believe it’ll actually keep increasing inflation rates for a solid three to four years until it finally starts putting in some work.

By then, living conditions will have become unbearable. Lower-income families are already struggling to make ends meet every month; with the proposed IRS expansion, more of them will be audited for their taxes.

The fact is, just about everything Biden’s doing is only beneficial to the elite few that were left unscathed by this economic crisis.

If he’s not doing that, he’s busy cleaning up after his drug-addicted son, Hunter Biden, who’d have served time by now, if not for his US president daddy.
