Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly resigned one day after apologizing for calling the ousted commander of the USS Theodore Roosevelt “naive and “stupid” over his handling of the ship’s coronavirus outbreak. Commander Kirk Lippold, who was the commanding officer on the USS Cole, joins The Rundown to discuss the controversy.
Many businesses have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic resulting in millions of Americans losing their jobs and trying to file for unemployment. Today on the Rundown, we speak to two people whose jobs have been impacted by COVID-19. Avi Liberman is a stand-up comedian and screenwriter and Mandy Visser is a corporate trainer for a high-end restaurant chain, a job she held for 15 years. They share how they are coping financially, what the unemployment process is like and what can be learned from all of this.
Plus, commentary by Kat Timpf, co-host of the Tyrus and Tympf podcast.
