According to our government’s inflation numbers, the 1960 minimum wage of one dollar should be worth about $11.50 today. If you add in the New York cost of living index of 125, that should put minimum wage at $14.35 in that state. If government ensures that every worker, documented or not, gets paid that much or more, and pays taxes on it, it is very likely that businesses will hire people who know American ways and our language over those who do not. Undocumented aliens usually only get hired because they will work for less.
I think this mayor is missing some screws! How can he say these people deserve to rob legal residents and citizens of his city of jobs. I think he should have his head examined. These people are “CRIMINALS” to begin with because they have entered our country illegally and should be branded as criminals.
Aside from this, if they are such “GOOD” swimmers why do sooooo many of them drown while crossing the Rio Grande???
